Here is an interesting story for you to check out at The Sun: Glasto is UFO hotspot
Here’s an excrpt:
In just five years 27 calls were made to police describing alien events, official figures show.
The alerts include general sightings of UFOs, aliens and one case of alleged “alien possession”.
One caller in the Somerset town ? home to the famous music festival ? reported a UFO in their front room, claiming it had made their dog draw pictures on the window.
Others claimed there were saints looking in through their windows, or wanted to pass messages on from our intergalactic neighbours.
In February 2007 one caller rang police to say aliens had taken over their body. This was followed up in July when another caller believed having seen an alien across the road.
In 2008 two callers reported being taken over by aliens and a possible alien assault. In the same year a UFO was seen circling local sight the Tor as well as the town.
Police have also been called by people advising them to upgrade their observations to monitor suspicious UFO activity.
In January this year another disgruntled caller claimed that flying saucers were Government inventions.
Avon and Somerset Police said their communications department deals with around 180,000 emergency calls and 375,000 non-emergency calls.
They also suggested some of these calls were likely to be hoaxes but added they do highlight the work their call handlers are faced with.
Chief Inspector Kevan Rowlands said: “Our call-handlers never know what the next call will involve and are trained to deal with a wide variety of incidents in a calm and professional manner.
“Sadly, there are a number of people who think it is amusing to ring the emergency services and make a hoax call.
“We are also very aware that some of the calls that may seem bizarre mask an underlying need from the caller. Our staff are trained to deal with this sensitively and to provide any necessary support.”
Mr Rowlands also urged people to consider the dangers of making hoax calls to the emergency 999 number which could stop genuine callers from getting through.
Avon and Somerset Police released the figures following a request under the Freedom of Information Act.
