Ask UFC champ Jon “Bones” Jones your MMA questions before UFC 140

Jon Jones kneels after forcing Rampage Jackson into submission at UFC 135 in Denver in September.

Jon “Bones” Jones has had a busy 2011. He’s won, and defended, the UFC light heavyweight title ? he forced the legendary Rampage Jackson into submission, TKO’d Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and dominated Ryan Bader.

And in that stretch, Jones sprinted from promising contender, to young champ, to future of the sport ? and now, to one of the present best pound-for-pound fighters in MMA.

It was an impressive run. And he’s well-know to Colorado fight fans. He knocked out Brandon Vera in Broomfield in March 2010, and his win over Jackson in September came in front of a sold-out Pepsi Center crowd in Denver.

On Dec. 10, he’ll fight for the fourth time this year, against Brazil’s Lyoto Machida, a former light heavy champ, at UFC 140 in Toronto.

But before he does, Jones will answer your questions in The Denver Post’s “Fan Mail.”

Send your questions to Jon in an email to fanmail@denverpost.com. Please include your first name and where you are from.

Who’s been his toughest opponent? Has he added any new weapons to his fighting arsenal? Can the rest of his division catch up to his style? Would he ever move to heavyweight for tougher competition? Who would he most like to fight? Who is he most afraid of?

Let loose and ask away.

Your questions and his answers will publish Thursday in The Denver Post and at denverpost.com/sports.
